Winter Tourism: 1.8 Million Visit Bulgaria
Bulgaria has witnessed a bustling winter tourism season, with a total of 1.8 million tourists gracing its picturesque landscapes from December 1 to March 25
Bulgaria is set on cutting the time needed to issue work permits to highly qualified foreigners and to extending their terms of validity.
The statement was made by Bulgarian Minister on EU policies Meglena Kuneva at the outsourcing conference dedicated to discussions of how Bulgaria can achieve its maximum potential in the field and how it retain its leadership position.
A proposal will be discussed for the issuance of the document to be limited within two months, instead of the current term - six months. Work permits might also be extended from one to three years, while the submission of the documents can be executed at an office in the Economics Ministry.
''It is very important for me that the country becomes a world destination in a field that is developing so fast,'' Kuneva said.
She quoted data that demonstrate that the outsourcing sector has generated close to 3% of the GDP in 2014. Kuneva noted that there is a potenial for the number to double in the next several years. Reportedly, over the course of a year, the number of employed in the sector has increased by a quarter.
