Bulgarian authorities detained a Macedonian human trafficker, who had been declared wanted by Interpol.

The trafficker was detained in a joint operation of the State Agency for National Security (DANS) and Border Police under the guidance and the supervision of the district prosecutor’s office in Vidin.

The authorities bust a human trafficking ring for the illegal transfer of humans from Bulgaria to Western Europe on Monday at the passenger railway station in Vidin.

The authorities carried out a joint check on the international fast train 480, travelling on the route between Sofia and Budapest and uncovered the Macedonian trafficker, who was hidden in a cavity behind a wall of a service room in a passenger carriage.

The authorities inform that two people have been detained and one of them was sentenced to 14-month imprisonment and an extradition procedure has been launched.
