Bulgaria's Hotel Sector Faces Workforce Shortages and High Taxes Ahead of 2025 Season

According to the new Eurostat flagship publication on the quality of life in Europe, which was released on Monday, Bulgarians had the lowest levels of life satisfaction in the EU.
The overall life satisfaction of Bulgarians stood at 4.8 on a scale from 0 to 10, being most satisfied with their accommodation and job – 6, while being least satisfied with their financial situation – 3.7.
On average, the citizens of the EU had an overall life satisfaction of 7.1 with Denmark, Finland and Sweden having the highest overall life satisfaction levels at 8.
People in the EU were most satisfied with their personal relationships, with their satisfaction in this respect ranking first in almost all member states, except Belgium, Bulgaria, Finland and Sweden.
It is interesting to note that satisfaction with personal relationships was higher than overall life satisfaction in all member states.
Europeans were least satisfied with their financial situation, which is the case in all member states except Sweden, where people were most dissatisfied with their time use.

The three Nordic member states – Denmark, Sweden and Finland had the highest levels of satisfaction with their financial situation.
The new flagship publication of Eurostat provides multidimensional measurement of the quality of life, which combines 8+1 dimensions.
These are personal relationships, accommodation, commuting time, living environment, green and recreational areas, job, time use, financial situation and overall life satisfaction.
