A report of Bulgaria's Energy and Water Regulatory Commission (KEVR) proposes the price of electricity for end users to increase by 2 % on average from July 1.
The regulator will discuss the proposal on June 4 and the decision is expected to be taken by the end of next month, daily Dnevnik reports.
It is visible from the document that CEZ, the Czech electricity distribution company, which services western Bulgaria and Energo-Pro, which is operational in the northeast of the country, demanded a 25 % increase in the night rates.
At the same time, CEZ requested for the daily rate to increase by 10 %, while Energo-Pro wanted a 3 % rise.
The Ausitran EVN, which supplies southeastern Bulgaria, proposed 3.6 % increase in electricity prices.
However the report of KEVR foresees the increases in electricity prices to be considerably lower – 1.53 % for users of CEZ, 3.64 % for Energo-Pro customers and 1.22 % for EVN users.
