The state of emergency in the municipality of Mezdra has been lifted Tuesday morning, as announced by mayor Nikolinka Kartovska.

Meanwhile, the total evaluation of the damages is still ongoing and will be announced prior to the end of the week.

Residential buildings and city zones have been restored to normal after the Sunday and Monday floods. A kindergarten was closed on account of a flooded basement and a wall of a residential home was completely destroyed by the flood.

Additionally, river mud and various large particles have been dragged to city locations after the river in town overflew.

Reconstruction works will be continuing throughout the city including the cleaning up of the landslide near the village of Ignatitsa.

In 2014, floods across Bulgaria caused damages worth BGN 1B.
