On our Facebook page, readers were asked about Bulgaria's stability after the June elections
Football club Ludogorets Razgrad claimed on Friday its fourth successive championship title, becoming the second Bulgarian team to do so after CSKA Sofia.
The team from Razgrad defended its title after defeating Lokomotiv Sofia 4-1 at Ludogorets Arena and establishing 10-point lead three rounds before the end of the season.
The achievement of Ludogorets is remarkable as it had won all editions of the Bulgarian championship since its promotion to the A Group in 2011.
CSKA Sofia is the only other Bulgarian team to have won four or more consecutive championship titles.
With its fourth championship title, Ludogorets came next to the teams of Litex and Lokomotiv Sofia, which have won the A Group the same number of times.
The only teams with a greater number of championship titles are three teams from the capital – CSKA with 31, Levski with 26 and Slavia with 7.
Prior to the game, the new stand at Ludogorets Arena was unveiled by Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov and Bulgarian Football Union (BFS) President Borislav Mihaylov.
The opening ceremony, which coincided with the celebrations of the team's 70th anniversary, was also attended by Finance Minister Vladislav Goranov and Regional Minister Lilyana Pavlova.
The stand bears the name of Romanian defender Cosmin Moti, whose remarkable performance in the second leg of the Champions League play-off against Steaua Bucuresti secured his team participation in the group stage of the tournament.
Ludogorets occupied the second place in the A Group in the beginning of the year and was three points behind CSKA.
However the poor performance of the team from Sofia, which has not scored a single goal since the beginning of the year, allowed Ludogorets to defend its title.
The performance of Ludogorets was not always impressive in the domestic championship, especially after the competition dropped in the second half of the season.
During the first half of the season, Ludogorets concentrated its efforts on the Champions League, becoming the first Bulgarian team to record a victory and earn points in the group stage of the tournament.
