Bulgarian Agriculture Minister Desislava Taneva announced on Thursday that there were plans for restructuring and closure of agencies, which were under the authority of the ministry.

Taneva revealed that apart from the lay-offs and the optimisation of personnel, which were ongoing in the ministry at present, certain bills will be presented for general discussion in a week.

These bills will concern the administrative functioning of the ministry and its subordinated agencies, daily Dnevnik reports.

The minister assured that she continued her efforts on ensuring that all agricultural policies are applied at regional level through the relevant district directorates.

Taneva added that the district directorates will be entrusted with all policies, part of which had been executed at central level until recently, in order to establish direct contact with agricultural producers.
