FlixBus Expands Routes from Bulgaria: New Connections to Thessaloniki, Athens, and More
FlixBus, the renowned European bus company, is set to launch new routes to and from Bulgaria in anticipation of the summer season
Tourism Minister Nikolina Angelkova announced on Thursday that the interest of Russian tourists towards the Bulgarian Black Sea coast has increased in the past days.
According to Angelkova, there has been a 40 % growth in the number of Russians, who have signed up for a summer holiday in Bulgaria, Darik radio reports.
The Minister pointed that this year's summer season will be challenging, but not necessarily unsuccessful.
The reason for Angelkova's optimism are publications in the Russian press and the stabilisation of the rouble, which give hopes to those employed in the tourism sector.
Although the weather has not become so warm yet, there was a 30-40 % increase in the number of Russians signing up for holiday in Bulgaria.
Angelkova dismissed information that there was withdrawal of German tourists and on the contrary, she noted that there was a 5 % increase in their number.
There was also a 5 % increase in the number of French tourists, while the expected growth in the number of visitors from Belarus, Latvia, Lithuania and Moldova was 40 % compared to last year.
More officials will be posted to the nineteen visa centers in Russia until the end of April, which will further facilitate the issue of visas.
Bulgaria has increased its advertisement of maritime and cultural tourism, especially in the neighbouring countries and Europe.
Angelkova reminded that the advertisements on the pan-European televisions targeted audiences in the UK, Germany, Poland, Greece, Romania, the Czech Republic and the Scandinavian countries.
The Minister said that no official information has been received that the Russian government has forbidden to civil servants from some of its ministries to go on a summer holiday in Bulgaria.
