The Bulgarian men's national football team climbed four position in the latest FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking, which was released on Thursday.

At present, Bulgaria occupies the 67th place with 505 points, being one position behind the team of Burkina Faso and ahead of the United Arab Emirates, the website of FIFA informs.

The prestigious 2-2 draw, which Bulgaria achieved against Italy in the EURO 2016 Group H qualifier at the end of March, was the cause for the progress in the ranking.

The Italians themselves dropped with three positions to the 13th place, while the leaders in Group H Croatia climbed two positions to the 17th place.

All other teams in qualification Group H are behind Bulgaria, with Norway retaining its 70th position, Azerbaijan climbing to 115th, while Malta dropped to 149th place.

The two top positions in the ranking remain unchanged, being occupied respectively by the reigning world champion Germany and its opponents in the 2014 final - Argentina.
