Bulgarian MPs will pick a new Chief Judicial Inspector at the Inspectorate of the Supreme Judicial Council (VSS).

There are two candidates, Vera Chochkova and Teodora Tochkova, and the winner needs at least 160 votes in favor.

Chochkova is judge at the criminal department of the Sofia City Court and Tochkova is Chair of the Haskovo Administrative Court, according to reports of the BGNES news agency.

On October 25, 2013 Ana Karaivanova resigned from the post of Chief Judicial Inspector at the VSS Inspectorate.

Although her term in office had expired at the beginning of 2013, she had to wait for Parliament to agree on her successor.

MPs will also vote Thursday on the nominees for members of the Commission for Energy and Water Regulation (KEVR, former State Commission for Energy and Water Regulation, DKEVR).

Ivan Ivanov, former MP, has been nominated for the post of KEVR Chair by right-wing formation the Reformist Bloc.

Following recent amendments to the Energy Act, the KEVR panel consists of nine members, including two panels of four members and a Chair, and is elected by Parliament and not the Council of Ministers.
