Bulgarian National TV Begins Preparations for Hosting Junior Eurovision

The Bulgarian National Television (BNT) has began preparations for hosting the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2015.
It was announced on Monday that the contest will take place on November 21 at the Arena Armeec Hall in Sofia.
In last year's edition of the tournament, Bulgaria was represented by Krisia, Hasan and Ibrahim, who finished second with only 12 points behind winner Vincenzo Cantiello from Italy.
As the winning country, Italy had initially been asked to organise the 2015 edition, but since TV RAI turned down, Bulgaria was offered and accepted to do so.
The contest can be organised only by members of the EBU, which in the case of Bulgaria means its public broadcaster BNT.
The executive supervisor of the Junior Eurovision on behalf of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) Vladislav Yakovlev assured that the EBU is to provide its support to BNT for the event.
So far Bulgaria has participated four times in the contest – 2007, 2008, 2011 an 2014, recording its best performance last year.
The Junior Eurovision has been held annually since 2003, when it first took place in Copenhagen, and so far 30 countries have participated in the contest.
Last year 16 countries participated, which is the highest number of participants since 2007, and so far eight countries have confirmed their participation for this year's edition.
The contest, which looks for Europe's young talents, who are aged between 10 and 15, will be broadcasted live on TV and online.
