The district governor of Bulgaria's Pazardzhik declared a partial state of emergency on Thursday due to burst dikes.

The protective dikes of river Topolnitsa in the vicinity of Pazardzhik and river Luda Yana near the village of Pishtigovo have burst.

Floods threaten to inundate parts of Pazardzhik, the road between the villages of Malo Konare and Pishtigovo, the irrigation canal Aleko Potoka, the pump station of Malo Konare, Trakia Motorway and arable lands.

The authorities have initiated repair works in order to restore the protective dikes, private Darik radio reports.
