An emergency rescue operation in Bansko ended successfully Thursday after a lost snowboarder was found safe and sound.

After close to two hours of search, the reascue teams have managed to find an English snowboarder, Radio Focus announced.

According to unconfirmed information, he went for a ride down an unapproved ski trail in a dangerous zone near Bansko. The snowboarder disappered around 11 am local time and his friends immediately called the mountain rescue service. It took five people to finally locate the person.

This, however, is not the only case of snowboarders using unmarked ski tracks for free riding. The previous case happened just yesterday, when an avalanche piled just below the peak of Todorka, injuring a Bulgarian snowboarder.

Rescue teams have continuously been warning against the dangerous practice also mentioning that in this way avalanches are often caused.
