Zaur Dadayev has confessed to involvement in the murder of Russian opposition politician Boris Nemtsov, ITAR-TASS reported on Sunday.

According to Judge Natalya Mushnikova, Dadayev's involvement was "confirmed by his confession," the newswire said.

Dadayev is one of the five men detained by Russia's Federal Security Service on suspected involvement in the murder of Nemtsov on 27 February.

Judge Mushnikova, of the Basmanny City Court in Moscow, ordered Dadayev's arrest extended until 28 April.

Dadayev and Anzor Gubashev were arrested on Saturday in the republic of Ingushetia, in the northern Caucasus. They were both charged with murder but Gubashev denied his involvement.

Three other arrested suspects, including Shagid Gubashev, Anzor's younger brother, said they were innocent.
