Ukraine Issues Stark Warning: Third World War if Russia Prevails!
Ukraine's Prime Minister, Denys Shmyhal, issued a stark warning, stating that a third world war would erupt if Russia emerged victorious in the ongoing conflict
Russian President Vladimir Putin stated in an interview for a local TV channel that an apocalyptic scenario of war with Ukraine can be deemed ''unlikely".
He added that he does not see the point of another meeting with representatives from France, Germany and Ukraine to resolve the tensions in the region. Putin said that the interests of all are in alignment, as nobody would want a war in Europe.
''A big European country like Ukraine should – in the first place – return the nation to normal, restore the economy, society and relations with the south-east of the country in a civilized way and ensure legitimate rights and interests of the people in Donbass,” said Putin.
The Russian President has been accused by his Ukrainian counterpart for not upholding the Minsk ceasefire agreement.
According to Ukrainian government, Russia has sent 20 tanks in the port city of Mariupol, where two tank attacks occurred on Sunday, Aljazeera reported.
Despite the statement made by Ukrainian military commander Colonel Valentyn Fedichev that attacks on the local soldiers have decreased, he still reported that there were 27 shootings since Sunday, thus killing two Ukrainian soldiers and leaving 10 more wounded.
Putin denied the accusations, deeming them ''nonsense'' and advised his Ukrainian colleagues to be more careful when using unconfirmed information.
Meanwhile, EU governments threatened Russia with more economic sanctions.
“Russia must be in no doubt that any attempts by the separatists to expand their territory — whether towards Mariupol or elsewhere — will be met with further significant EU and US sanctions,'' said British Prime Minister David Cameron on Tuesday. ''Russia must change course now.”
