A state of emergency was announced on Sunday, after floods and hurricane winds took over a number of cities in Bulgaria. The disaster wrecked havoc on Smolyan, Burgas, Topolovgrad and Dobrich. Varshets, Devin and Kardzhali were also affected.
Floods claimed the lives of a nine-year-old boy and a man accompanying him in the southwest on Sunday, and more people have been declared missing throughout the country.

In Burgas alone, seventy houses have been flooded. Currently, military servants, firefighters and civilians have joined efforts as municipalities across the country are attempting to recover after the floods.
