Pope Francis to Visit Sarajevo in June

Pope Francis will pay a one-day visit to Sarajevo on June 6, 2015.
The announcement about the visit came as Pope Francis addressed the crowds in St. Peter’s Square after the recitation of the Angelus prayer, according to reports of the Vatican Radio.
“God willing” – the Pope said –“On Saturday 6 June I will travel to Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia-Herzegovina.” And he asked for prayers so his one-day visit would encourage Bosnia's Catholic population as well as `'give rise to the development of good and contribute to the consolidation of brotherhood and peace.''
Pope Francis was invited to attend ceremonies in Sarajevo in June 2014 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the start of World War I.
Pope John Paul II visited the war-torn capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina in April 1997.
