New Bulgarian Contingent Begins Mission with KFOR in Kosovo
A new contingent from the Armed Forces of the Republic of Bulgaria has commenced its mission as part of the NATO Stabilization Force in Kosovo
Lieutenant General Mark Schissler, Deputy Chairman of the NATO Military Committee, is to arrive in Bulgaria Wednesday.
During his visit to Bulgaria, Schissler is to meet with the Chief of Defense, Vice-Admiral Rumen Nikolov, and with Deputy Defense Minister Dimitar Kyumurdzhiev and Deputy Foreign Minister Valentin Poryazov.
The agenda of Schissler’s meetings in Sofia include ongoing and future cooperation within NATO, as well as the opportunities for the Bulgarian Army for organizing joint trainings with NATO countries.
Schissler is also to discuss with Bulgarian defense officials the upgrade and development of the Bulgarian Armed Forces, as well as the ongoing military reform.
