Bulgaria's top tennis player Grigor Dimitrov has risen by one position in the ATP world rankings and currently holds the ninth spot, displacing Australian player Alex de Minaur.
Bulgarian tennis star Grigor Dimitrov defeated Slovakia’s Martin Klizan 6-3, 6-4 in a match of the quarterfinals of the Brisbane International Men's Singles on Friday.
Dimitrov took 72 minutes to beat Klizan and reach the semi-finals of the tennis tournament.
His victory won him USD 22 800 and 90 points in the ATP ranking, according to reports of the BGNES news agency.
Dimitrov will next play Roger Federer or Australia’s James Duckuort
Later on Friday, Dimitrov and his doubles partner, Thanasi Kokkinakis, will play in the semi-finals against Kei Nishikori/Alexandr Dolgopolov.
