The workers from Cherno More mine near the Bulgarian city of Burgas have gone on strike again, with over 40 people from the night shift remaining underground on Wednesday.

The miners declared that they are not going to come out until they receive their delayed salaries, private bTV station reports.

For the last time they received advance payments of BGN 350 for the month of October.

Radoslav Radukov, who represents the Podkrepa (Support) Labor Confederation, said for bTV that the strike was not predicted and it resulted from the escalation of tension, as salaries have not been paid for the past three months.

Radukov assured that the trade unions have not expected the strike as they have been tolerant enough to wait, saying that it was not acceptable to go on strike for every delayed salary.

In his words, other miners also expressed support for the actions of their colleagues, but they were advised not to go underground.

The strikers have been provided with food, water and medical care.

Over 60 miners went on a 40-hour underground strike in September again due to their remunerations having been delayed.
