Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev has stressed the need of various reforms in 2015, that in the judiciary being "the most important, the most pressing".

Plevneliev also told participants in an economic forum that Bulgaria's freedom lies in "energy efficiency" and "the future is in innovations", according to Dariknews.

During his speech at the Tenth National Innovation Forum "Innovation Agenda for Sustainable Growth and Competitiveness" he voiced his concern over the government's move to put a wheel on reforms in the pension system by freezing the retirement age as of next year.

"The shortest path to instability in Bulgaria is to renounce reforms," he warned, adding he looked forward to a viable solution by the end of March, when a long-term decision should be agreed by the cabinet and trade unions.

In Plevneliev's words, the energy sector is also in a troublesome state and could "blow the national economy" without reform.

Steps toward change should also be taken in education, in the administration and the introduction of the e-government, the President believes.
