Sofia Airport marks an increase of 4.7 % on an yearly basis on the number of passengers during the month of November.

Although November is traditionally low season for air traffic, the airport has provided service to 263 564 passengers.

The people that have travelled on regular international flights were 251 140, which represents an increase of 5 % compared to November last year.

The passengers on domestic flights were 9975, which is 5 % less than in the same period last year.

The total number of planes that had landed and taken off at the airport was 3112, an increase of 8 planes compared to last year.

Bulgarian airlines have provided for 29 % of air traffic, the rest has been carried out by foreign carriers.

The volume of cargo and postal shipments that have been processed amounted to 1588 tonnes, an increase of 11.5 % from last year.

Electronic daily Dnevnik reminds that this year the Israeli airline Israir will be welcomed at Sofia Airport for the first time.

From the beginning of December Flydubai starts to operate a regular route between Sofia and Dubai International Airport.

During the current winter season, the traditional charter flights with ski tourists from the United Kingdom will be operated by Thomson Airways, Thomas Cook Airlines, B H Air, and English carrier Jet 2.
