State of Emergency Declared in Nedelino as Power Outages Hit Villages
A partial state of emergency has been declared in the Nedelino Municipality by Mayor Boyan Kehayov due to power outages affecting three villages

The anti-corruption unit of the Sofia City Prosecutor’s Office has pressed charges of malfeasance in office against Stoyan Beshirov, Mayor of the southern Bulgarian municipality of Nedelino.
Beshirov’s activities in the period January 2012 – October 24, 2014 are believed to have resulted in damage of BGN 902 465 to the municipal budget, according to the press office of the Sofia City Prosecutor’s Office.
Beshirov faces charges of breaching the Public Procurement Act in four public procurement deals, thereby causing material and non-material damage to the Nedelino Municipality while securing benefits for third parties.
The State Agency for National Security (DANS) entered the headquarters of the Nedelino Municipality last week after private TV station Nova TV aired a program devoted to an investigation into abuse of state funds and EU funds in public procurement, according to reports of dnevnik.bg.
According to the investigation conducted by journalists, companies close to the Mayor pocketed money for construction works which only remained on paper.
Beshirov has been imposed a remand measure of bail of BGN 10 000.
The Sofia City Prosecutor’s Office will demand that he be removed from office.
