The Bulgarian Football Union dismissed Lyuboslav Penev from his position as the head coach of the national football team.

The motive for the decision was the bad performance of the national team and the negligibly small chances of qualifying for the Euro 2016 tournament.

“I hope we will have a new head coach by New Year,” the BFU president Borislav Mihailov told the media. “We analysed the situation. In the three years Penev was head coach, the team won nine games, lost eight and had seven draws. We all agreed the team does not perform well in the past year.”
