A collision of tram # 10 and bus #72 occurred Monday morning at the intersection of the Evlogi Georgiev Boulevard and Graf Ignatiev Street in downtown Sofia.

The incident occurred at 10.50 am, according to reports of the Sofia Municipality, as cited by the BGNES news agency.

Seven people have been injured in the traffic accident, according to Tencho Tenev from the Sofia Traffic Police unit.

Three of the injured are receiving treatment at the Pirogov hospital, while four have been taken to the Military Medical Academy.

None of the injured is in critical condition.

Traffic has not been restored yet, according to the press office of the Sofia Municipality.

According to preliminary reports, bus #72 ran a red light because its brakes failed.
