Bulgaria's newly-appointed Prime Minister Boyko Borisov has said he expects that his ministers will be able to get Bulgaria out of the current "free fall".

"None of us is happy and satisfied," Borisov explained during the ceremony marking the transition of power held at the Council of Ministers after Parliament voted to approve the new government.

"None [of us] imagines this is the most comfortable and the best government. All infrastructural projects and many operational programs are halted in Brussels. There is no single [European] leader who has not come here to speak from this rostrum," he added.

Borisov also blamed the "Oresharski" cabinet, the previous elected government which stepped down in July, for returning Bulgaria "exactly two years back" and emphasized the need of at least two more years to compensate for its mistakes.

After his candidacy was approved in Parliament, Boyko Borisov becomes the first Bulgarian politician to become Prime Minister for a second time in the country's most recent history.

Georgi Bliznashki, who officially vacated the office of Prime Minister to hand it to Borisov, voiced his hope that the next cabinet would be committed to reform.

He described his three-month tenure as "brief, but difficult and tense."
