The leader of center-right party GERB, Boyko Borisov, who was given a government mandate by President Rosen Plevneliev on Wednesday, is expected to announce whether he will form a cabinet or return the mandate.
Late on Wednesday, the GERB party (Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria), the right-wing formation the Reformist Bloc, and the nationalist coalition Patriotic Front, reached agreement on a joint governance program expected to be backed by the ABV Movement (Alternative for Bulgarian Revival).
Wednesday’s talks between the four parties lasted over 7 hours, according to reports of dnevnik.bg.
GERB and the Reformist Bloc are expected to ink a coalition agreement Thursday, while the Patriotic Front and ABV are expected to state their support for the Cabinet by signing additional agreements.
The ABV Movement of former two-term President Georgi Parvanov is to hold a meeting on Thursday to decide on supporting the government, after which they are to give a press conference at 2 pm.
The structure and makeup of the government, as well as the Prime Minister nominee, are to be put to the vote in Parliament on Friday.
