Perfect Start: Bulgarian Champions Edge Past Malmö in Sweden
Bulgaria’s champion Ludogorets opened their Europa League group stage campaign with a valuable 2-1 away win against Swedish titleholders Malmö, marking a strong start to the 2025/26 season

Ludogorets defeated Basel 1-0 in UEFA Champions League Group B match in Sofia on Wednesday evening.
The victory over the Swiss visitors made Ludogorets the first ever Bulgarian team to earn points at Champions League group stage.
Left-back Yordan Minev gave the victory to the hosts by scoring in the first minute of added time from about 20 metres.
Basel played 72 minutes with 10 men after midfielder Serey Die was shown a straight red card for a challenge on Cosmin Moti.
Ludogorets, Basel and Liverpool now are all on three points from three matches, behind group leaders Real Madrid who have nine points also from three matches.
Basel will meet Ludogorets in Switzerland on 4 November.
