IS Recruits Fighters From The Balkans

The Balkan Peninsula is one of the places where the Islamic State (IS) recruits fighters, the President of Serbia Tomislav Nikolic told the UN General Assembly, quoted by Bulgaria's Nova TV national channel.
According to him, the Balkans are the third region, after the Middle East and Western Europe, that provides large numbers of warriors for the terrorist organisation.
“There are 300 people from Kosovo and Albania, 60 Bosnians, 20 Macedonians, three Serbs and one Bulgarian who joined the Islamic State to fight in Syria and Iraq,” Nikolic said.
