Bulgaria Prepares for National Emergency System Test Across Multiple Cities
On October 1, at 11:00 a.m., tests of the National Early Warning and Disclosure System (NEWDS) and the BG-Alert system will be conducted
Code yellow warning for potentially dangerous weather conditions has been issued for eight Bulgarian districts for Friday, September 26.
The warning is valid for the districts of Smolyan, Pazardzhik, Plovdiv, Kardzhali, Haskovo, Stara Zagora, Gabrovo and Burgas, according to the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. In these districts rainfalls are expected to reach 20-35 l/sq m.
The weather throughout the country will be cloudy and rainy on Friday. Temperatures will drop and thermometers will show 12-17 degrees C in the afternoon, in Sofia – about 14°.
Weather in the mountains will be rainy, snowfalls are expected above 2,400 m.
