Bulgaria: First Snow Covers Petrohan Pass Photo: tribali.info

The first snow covered the Petrohan mountain pass early on Tuesday morning, reports tribali.info.

The road was passable in winter conditions, as due to the low temperatures, the snow cover stuck to the road. The passing of automobiles with summer tyres was practically impossible, according to the site, while the site News of Montana informed that there was at least 3 cm of snow on a 2 kilometre stretch of the road.

Later in the day the head of the police station in Berkovtsa told the Focus agency that the snow had melted and the situation is back to normal.

The cold snap is expected to last till the weekend when temperatures will start slowly rising.
