Transport chaos has gripped Plovdiv’s city center following an incident involving a man threatening to jump from the northern side of the Tunnel
A wall has collapsed on a worker at a construction site in Bulgaria's southern city of Plovdiv.
According to preliminary reports, the construction accident occurred during excavation work.
The injured man is a 24-year-old construction worker.
He was taken to hospital in an ambulance.
He has suffered injuries to the chest and abdomen but his condition is not life threatening.
The labor inspectorate is conducting a probe into the case and is to come up with a statement on the case in a few days' time, according to the BGNES news agency.
Although fellow workers of the injured man say that he has an employment contract, the document has not been presented to the labor inspectorate.
According to local police, the signal about the accident was received via the 112 emergency phone number at 9:50 am on Friday.
The incident happened in an inter-block area in the region of the Hristo Botev Boulevard and Trakia Street
