Bulgaria's Grigor Dimitrov has notched up his first win at U.S. Open after beating American Ryan Harrison in three straight sets, 6-2 7-6, 6-2.
After Wednesday's victory, Dimitrov advanced to the second round of the U.S. Open.
Bulgaria's star tennis player has failed to reach the second round of the tournament for three consecutive years, in 2011, 2012 and 2013, according to reports of the BGNES news agency.
His victory in the opening round on Wednesday won him 45 ranking points and a prize of USD 60 420.
The possible next opponents for Grigor are Carlos Berlocq of Argentina or Dudi Sela of Israel in the second round.
