In the first six months of 2014, Bulgaria's exports to Russia dropped by 2.1%, while Russian imports fell by 23%, according to data presented at a business forum.
Speaking at a Bulgarian-Russian business forum held in the Black Sea resort of Albena, the Chair of the Bulgarian-Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Zhelyu Dobrev, announced that trade between Bulgaria and Russia in 2013 had amounted to USD 7.340 B.
Dobrev, as cited by the Bulgarian National Radio, noted that both exports and imports declined in 2014 "for various reasons."
He made clear that Bulgaria's exports to Russia had dropped by 2.1% in the first six months of 2014, while Russian imports had decreased by 23%, the biggest share being that of crude oil.
He also said that the number of Russian tourists in 2014 would drop by 5-10%.
Yuri Agafonov, President of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, declared that there was no information about Bulgarian resorts in Russia and the number of Russian tourists in Bulgaria was decreasing.
