FlixBus Expands Routes from Bulgaria: New Connections to Thessaloniki, Athens, and More
FlixBus, the renowned European bus company, is set to launch new routes to and from Bulgaria in anticipation of the summer season
Bulgaria's seaside hoteliers are planning to lower the prices after August 20, reports Trud daily.
By the end of September prices along the northern part of the Black Sea coast will be by up to 45% lower, with largest discounts on offer for holidays after September 10. Besides the lower prices, including for four- and five-star hotels with all inclusive services, some hotels will offer a promotion “buy six, get one free” or free beds for up to two children.
They would be usually valid for last-minute reservations.
Three-star hotels are also offering discounts, but they include just two meals a day and no free deck chairs and parasols on the beach.
The south coast hoteliers are also planning discounts from September, but restaurant prices and rent for parasols and deck chairs would remain at their usual summer high.
At the same time, hotel owners along the coast say that speculations for a weak season were exaggerated and they would be able to compensate for the late start of the season and the lower number of Russian tourists.
Varna hoteliers said they saw an increase in number of Polish and Moldovan tourists and had many large Iranian families as guests. The German tourists were also a bit more than last year and are the third largest group of foreign tourists, together with the Romanians.
“It is too early to make any conclusions about this confounding season,” Stoyan Marinov of the Varna Tourist Board told Trud. “There are the well-managed hotels, which will post an increase, compared to 2013, but there are also the ones that were half empty in end of July, because of their very inflated prices.”
