The Bulgarian Association of Travel Agents (BATA) has informed that the situation at the Black Sea resorts after the heavy rain is normal.

The torrential rain of the past few days led to flooding in the lower parts of some hotels but there was no serious and lasting damage, according to BATA, as cited by the Bulgarian Telegraph Agency.

According to a statement of BATA, the infrastructure and the beaches are in good condition, the air, water and land transportation are functioning normally, according to the summer schedule, and all sites of cultural and historical significance are accessible and open for visitors.

Meanwhile, Romanian agency Adjepress informed that the country had sent a bus and several tow dolliesto collect a total of 29 Romanian tourists and 8 cars from the flooded Bulgarian Black Sea resort of Albena.

The vehicles sent by Romania, which departed Sunday morning from Constanta, are accompanied by a team of consular officials who are ready to issue the necessary documents on the spot.

The operation is coordinated by the Romanian Interior Ministry, according to dnevnik.bg.

Representatives of the Romanian diplomatic representation in Bulgaria, who arrived in Albena to help their compatriots, announced that a total of 29 people and 8 vehicles would return to Romania.

The remaining part of the Romanian tourists expressed willingness to continue their holidays at Albena as the situation was returning to normal, according to the Romanian diplomatic sources.

According to Adjepress, in, a total of 73 vehicles carrying 244 people crossed the border crossing points on the Bulgarian-Romanian border on their way back from Albena the period 4.30 pm on Saturday until 10 am on Sunday.

On Friday, a total of 1200 tourists were evacuated from hotels in Albena near the Baltata natural reserve due to the torrential rain and the high waters of the Batovska river.

They were accommodated at other hotels in the resort.
