Deputy Prime Minister Daniela Bobeva has insisted that Bulgaria is not plagued by an economic crisis, despite the allegations of the opposition.

She assured that the country had not been stricken by apocalypse, as the opposition claimed.

"The only enemy of the Bulgarian economy is political instability. It is developing normally. Our indicators are much better than the ones of a number of European countries," Bobeva stated in a Wednesday interview for the Bulgarian National Radio.

On Wednesday, Bulgaria's Parliament is to discuss the fifth no-confidence vote against the socialist-led government of Prime Minister Plamen Oresharski based on the failed financial policy of the Cabinet. The no-confidence motion was initiated by center-right party GERB (Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria).

"We have a political commitment and we will not push the country towards political instability through rash decisions. We want a clear signal from the politicians that they will reach agreement," Bobeva announced.

Bulgaria's Deputy Prime Minister noted that the government was a collegiate body in which the Prime Minister was the most important figure.

She suggested that the socialist-led government had shown that it was capable of working and vowed that it would continue working until a new Cabinet was elected.

Bobeva refused to say when the government would resign.

She pointed out that President Rosen Plevneliev had not made any serious attempts to seek national consensus over the past year and expressed hopes that he would eventually do it.

Bobeva also called on Bulgarians to buy domestic goods and spend the holidays in Bulgaria to support the local economy.
