The most long-lived British rock band, the Rolling Stones, topped the Billboard Top 25 Live Artists Since 1990 list for highest-grossing touring artists.
According to the Billboard magazine, they grossed USD 1.5 B from tours, since 1990.
Also cracking the USD 1 B mark, and accompanying the Stones in the top five, are other veterans of the international touring circuit: U2, Bruce Springsteen, Madonna and Bon Jovi.
U2 take out the number one spot for attendance, with 20.5 M people lining up to see 526 shows since 1990, followed closely by the Stones, who have notched up 19.6 M attendees across 538 shows.
The list proves that age is no barrier to success, with the average age of vocalists in the top 10 sitting at 56 years. More than half of the 25 acts feature artists who are over 60.
Also revealing is the fact that the list features only four acts who have released their debut albums since 1990: Dave Matthews Band (1993), Toby Keith (1993), Kenny Chesney (1994) and Coldplay (2000).
