Bulgarian nationalist party Ataka may request the annulment of the European Parliament elections on May 25.
Speaking Wednesday in Parliament, the Deputy Chair of Ataka, Desislav Chukolov, said that the party would most probably seek a cancellation of the election results due to breaches of election rules by center-right party GERB (Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria) and the Bulgaria without Censorship party of former TV host Nikolay Barekov.
"The two parties work together and the election campaign of the Bulgaria without Censorship party cost BGN 50 M", Chukolov declared, according to Sega daily.
Chukolov insisted that the GERB party and the Bulgaria without Censorship party, as well as their leaders, be investigated by the Chief Prosecutor.
Ataka members assured they would take part in Wednesday's debates on the no-confidence motion against the socialist-led government in order to "expose the lies of GERB" and their failure as regards Bulgaria's energy policy.
The Central Electoral Commission is to announce the final results of the recount of the ballots and protocols.
According to preliminary results, nationalist party Ataka received 3% of the vote.
