Bulgaria: GERB Lead Growing, DPS Closing in on BSP

According to the latest parallel counts of Alpha Research, the center-right GERB party’s lead in the European elections is increasing.

The party of former Prime Minister Boyko Borisov has 29.9% of the votes, followed by the ruling Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) with 19.5%.

What is worth noting is that the ethnic Turkish Movement for Rights and Freedoms (DPS) is closing in on the BSP, with 18.2%. In fourth place is the coalition of former journalist Nikolay Barekov with 10.8% and the Reformist Bloc with 6.3%.

In terms of deputies in the European Parliament, GERB would have 6 MEPs if the results are confirmed. BSP and DPS would each have 4, while BWC with 2 and the Reformist Bloc with 1.
