Bulgarian Foreign Minister Kristian Vigenin and his Greek counterpart Evangelos Venizelos discussed Thursday in Thessaloniki energy cooperation.

Vigenin brought up the issue of the problems experienced by Bulgarian citizens with professional experience in Greece as regards social security, while Venizelos vowed to organize a bilateral working group to solve the technical problems, according to the press office of Bulgaria's Foreign Ministry.

The two foreign ministers also discussed opportunities for energy diversification and opportunities for energy cooperation, citing the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP), the Bulgaria-Greece gas grid interconnection, and projects for an LNG terminal in northern Greece as important projects.

Special attention was also paid to the North-South gas corridor project.

Vigenin and Venizelos emphasized the positive role of the recently opened Makaza-Nimfea border crossing point for the development of the region.

The two also exchanged views on topical issues on the international and European agenda.

Vigenin and Venizelos noted that Bulgaria and Greece, being partners in the EU and NATO, had similar stances on a number of topics.
