In the northwestern region, the poorest EU region, the state is the largest employer, providing temporary employment to the population in the region. As regards permanent employment, the largest number of vacancies were for  nurses, teachers, tailors and manufacturing workers.

The weakest competition was registered is in Sofia, where there were an average of 13 unemployed per vacancy.

In February, a total of 22 762 people were registered as unemployed in Employment Agency offices in Sofia, while the vacancies were 1753.

The highest demand in Sofia was for financiers, insurance agents, shop assistants and real estate agents.
