Bulgaria's mobile operators have introduced new cheaper tariffs on calls which come into effect on April 1, 2014.

Until now, consumers paid according to the so-called 60+1 system, meaning that each call shorter than 60 seconds was charged at the cost of one whole minute. The new tariff 30+1 will result in lower prices of mobile calls as now every second after the 30th will be paid separately, Bulgarian BGNES reports.

As of April 1, consumers across Bulgaria will be able to call landlines within the region they live from their home phone at the price of a local call. In order to introduce the new tariff, telecoms must make changes in the regional phone codes across the country.

Towns and villages whose telephone numbers start with two or three identical digits will get a common regional phone code, as of April. This will not lead to a change in the users numbers, still the new code will be a mandatory part of their phone number.
