US Searches for Debris from Suspected Chinese Surveillance Balloon
The United States said it was searching for debris from a suspected Chinese surveillance balloon that was shot down by a U.S. fighter jet off the coast of South Carolina on Saturday
A total of 122 objects that might have been part of disappeared Malaysian plane were spotted by a satellite.
Malaysia's Transport Minister said that pieces up to 23m in length appeared bright and were possibly made of "solid material," the BBC has reported.
It would take time to find out if they are part of missing MH370 after Xinhua News Agency announced most of search operations have been postponed due to severe weather conditions. A Chinese aircraft nevertheless is reported to have taken off, heading to the Indian Ocean's site shown at satellite pictures.
The images from French Airbus satellite were taken on March 23 and showed objects "in one area of the ocean," 2500 kilometers from Australian city of Perth.
CNN has however cited officials warning that the "debris" may turn out to be flotsam from cargo ships.
If the search operation finds that they are remains of the plane, the area where the aircraft fell down could at least be roughly determined.
Search activities have been going on for nearly three weeks now, after flight Malaysia Arilines flight MH370 mysteriously disappeared short after taking off from Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur while en route to Beijing.
