Foreign Minister Kristian Vigenin has reiterated Bulgaria's support for the sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity of Ukraine.

Speaking Friday in Parliament, he noted that Bulgaria backed the efforts to find a peaceful solution of the crisis in compliance with the principles of international law.

Vigenin pointed out that Bulgaria subscribed to the appeal of the international community for an immediate withdrawal of Russian troops back to their permanent bases and for the admission of permanent observers in Crimea.

He underscored that he had repeatedly insisted on the distinction between government and radical elements in his statements on the events in Ukraine.

Vigenin was adamant that the European Union had to demonstrate unity in the messages it sent.

Bulgaria's Foreign Minister said that he had been given guarantees about the rights of the Bulgarian minority in Ukraine.

Asked about Bulgaria's preparedness to accept Bulgarians from Ukraine, he said that there were no reasons to expect an increase in migratory flows to Bulgaria at the current stage, adding that there were only one-off cases of arrivals of Bulgarians living on the territory of Crimea, where the Bulgarian community consisted of around 5000 people.

He said that Bulgarians were currently interested in receiving visas of the types C and D.

Vigenin informed that there had been an uptick in the interest in obtaining C-type visas which allowed a quick exit from Ukraine.
