The unemployment among the non-studying Bulgarian youth up to 25 years of age has risen sharply in the past year.

According to the Eurostat data, employment among Bulgarian women remains higher than among men. The unemployment rate was 12.5% and 13.4%, respectively.
The total unemployment in the EU in January 2014 is 10.8%. The highest unemployment rates are in Greece, 28% and Spain, 26%. The lowest unemployment rates are in Austria, Germany and Luxembourg.
