Hristo Biserov, former Deputy Speaker of Bulgaria's Parliament, who was charged with money laundering and document fraud, avoided again the unflattering "Golden Skunk" award.

The mocking award is given out by the popular TV show "Lords of the Air" in recognition of a particularly stinking affair, as suggested by the little and smelly black-and-white striped mammal it has been named after.

The show reporters will have to be more creative in their ambush strategies, it turned out on Wednesday after Hristo Biserov proved too fast and indifferent, but this time at least he did not break the mocking statuette.

The reporters accosted Biserov as he turned up in court as a witness in the case against Oktay Enimehmedov – the attacker of politician Ahmed Dogan, honorary leader of the Turkish party.

"Lord of the Air" takes particular interest in exposing blunders by fellow TV journalists, but also seeks to draw the public attention in more unusual ways.
