The death toll from Monday morning’s explosion on a trolleybus in Volgograd has reached 11.
Officials from Russia’s Public Healthcare Ministry told ITAR-TASS that an 11th person had died in the hospital. Earlier, it was revealed that a 1-year old baby is also among the casualties.
The explosion, believed to be caused by a suicide bomber, is the 2nd straight in the city, following a blast at a train station on Sunday, which killed 17.
In October, a female suicide bomber blew herself up on a bus in Volgograd, killing 6.
Moscow is concerned militant groups could be ramping up violence in the run-up to the 2014 winter Olympic Games in the city of Sochi, which start in February.
