Turkish police has scattered hundreds of protesters who tried to gather at Taksim Square in Istanbul to demand the resignation of Prime Minister Recep Erdogan, Friday.

Meanwhile, some 500-600 demonstrators took the streets of Turkish capital Ankara in anti-government protests, as well.

At least two people were injured and 30 have been arrested after the protesters and the police clashed in Istanbul Friday night, according to AFP.

The demonstrators were dispersed by the authorities using water cannon and rubber bullets.

Turkish PM Recep Erdogan spoke to several thousand supporters at the airport in Istanbul, Friday.
