Bulgarians staged anti-government protests in several major cities on Thursday.
The most numerous gathering was in the capital Sofia, where 2 simultaneous rallies took place, one starting from Orlov Most (Eagle’s Bridge) and the other from the square in front of the Bulgarian National Bank (BNB), reported Standartnews.
There was also a significant group of students studying abroad, who are back for the Christmas holidays.
Several hundred protesters marched through Plovdiv’s central avenue and gathered at the Suedinenie (Union) Square.
In Varna, 70-80 people protested in front of the municipality. Other demonstrations took place in Dobrich, Ruse, Vidin, Pazardzhik, Blagoevgrad, Burgas, and Veliko Tarnovo.
There are no reports of tensions between protesters and police.
